The candidates seeking admission to First year Engineering and Technology degree courses has to mandatorily appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. (PCM) as the subject for MHT-CET.

The Commissioner of State CET Cell, is the Competent Authority for conducting MHT-CET and selection of candidates for admission to 4 Year Duration Full Time Under Graduate Degree courses in Engineering and Technology.

The questions for the examination are based on Syllabus of the science stream of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (HSC)

MathematicsTrigonometric functions, Trigonometric functions of Compound Angles, Factorization Formulae, Straight Line, Circle and Conics, Sets, Relations and Functions, Probability, Sequences and series.

Marking System & Duration

  • The questions are mainly application based& are multiple choice questions (MCQ) having 4 options.
  • The Questions are displayed on the computer screen one at a time. The paper is of 180 Min duration,first 90 minutes Physics and chemistry is enabled and only after completion of first 90 minutes’ time Physics-Chemistry group will be auto submitted and Mathematics group will be enabled with 90 minutes’ duration.
  • Applicants are suggested not to spend too much time on any particular question.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

The test is conducted at district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra & Capital District of the selected states outside Maharashtra, like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar etc. Candidates have the option to select the examination center of their choice while filling the application form online.

Age Limit:
There is no particular age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET.

Educational Qualification:
All the candidates passed / appearing at the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent test and having Indian Nationality.

Candidature type.
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature

Needs to fulfill any one of the criteria as mentioned below:

  • Candidates passing SSC and also HSC/Bachelor ofScience Examination/Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
  • Candidate who is either born in Maharashtraor is a Domicile of Maharashtra.
  • Whose Father/Mother isdomiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
  • Whose Father/Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission ofApplication Form for CAP.
  • Whose Father/Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra orGovernment of Maharashtra Undertaking.
  • Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in adisputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

(2) All India Candidature.
The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category. However candidates in this category may or may not appear for MHT-CET as Score of JEE(Main) shall be favored over MHT-CET 2020 for admission to B.E./B.Tech.

(3) Minority Candidature.
The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government.
